Question: Your opinion on what I should do?
Hi All,
Im 20 and have a stable fulltime job that has required no formal qualifications to land this job. Ive been there for almost a year and love it.
I was a top grade student in highschool who was expected to go to uni (went for a month and didnt like the course; which was primary teaching, so quit), or tafe, and im a bit embarassed when people ask what I am doing with myself these days.
Ive only just started thinking about going back to uni to study nursing next year. However, during the time i have started working fulltime, ive now got a car to look after. Im so used to having a lump wage, and am afraid that ill have to start a new part time job that i'll hate because it wont compare to my current one.
I really want to do something with my life. To say that I completed my qualification and go into the field of nursing... but at the same time, i feel like i might regret it because of the money side of things.
I worry that i wont like my current job in a few years, and dont want to be the type of person to have regrets.
My boyfriend is studying also, and will be for the next couple of years, and he always tells me how hard it is to get by with minimal part time wage.
Would you follow your heart, knowing that you won't be able to work fulltime for another 3 years when the course is finished, or would you stay in your current job and see where it takes you in the years to come?
My current job is administration.
I also hope to buy a house in mid 20s with my boyfriend, and dont want the debt of uni to stop us from getting a loan, although he already will have a uni debt when he finishes.
Please help me decide what to do?
Answer:
Go to a community college for 2 years to get your basics out of they way and then transition a nursing program!
Community college is flexible = online classes, weekend classes, or night classes
The cost is minimal no more than 1200 dollars a semester for 15 hours = not a lot of student debt
Plus you get to still work and be in school = WIN , WIN ! :-)
