Question: Would I have to work a second job if I applied for one at Disney?
I'm thinking after high school and after a few years at a community or music college that I should audition for a character role at Disney. My height allows me to audition for the roles such as Tink, Wendy, and Alice. I was wondering how much pay you get per hour, is it enough to maintain a good life while living in Florida? Will I have to get a second job? Is it worth auditioning for?
I've heard that working for Disney is not even worth it, and that they treat their cast members horribly.
I would love to get a point of view from a cast member.
please&thank you

Answer:
I am not a cast member, however one of my good friends is a cast member. He said he does not know a single person who is a character cast member for Disney who does NOT have a second job. It pays $6.35 an hour to be a regular Disney cast member, and only 20 cents per hour additional if you play a character.
Full time cast members work 30-40 hours a week. Part time cast members work 24 hours a week. So you don't make a great deal of money. I have never heard that Disney treats their employees badly, but simply that they do not pay them a lot. If you want to audition, and have a dream of working for Disney, it is worth it. Just keep in mind that you'd need a second job as well. If you want it to be your only job, it may not be worth auditioning for, for you.
You do get free admission into all the parks, discounts on merchandise, medical benefits, dental & vision benefits, paid vacations, paid sick days, and a retirement plan. So there are benefits to working for Disney. I haven't met anyone who didn't like it, but those who I know who work or have worked for Disney dreamed of doing it. They didn't care as much about the money, but were excited to just be there. So you have to give it a lot of thought, and base your decision on the pro's & con's of it.
well unless u want to be an imagineer or animation artist u would not need a second job just saying
