Question: What is the best way to get the qualifications to be a pastry chef and chocolatier once left school? ?

Are there any qualifications needed? Should I go to uni? I am 14 but need to choose my gcse options and don't no whether I will need a language, should I go to uni? Do you even have to have a language for
University? Basically I want to be a pastry chef and chocolatier professionally but o want to know what is the best way to Lear and get qualifications if there are even any needed? Thanks

Good refrences.

Look at the chef you admire and see how they started, you'll find the majority attended their local college studying catering. Some did'nt even do this they learnt their trade by basically learning on job so an evening job just washing dishes/basic food prep could be a start.

French would be helpful but not essential.

Universities do not do catering. You need to apply to a Catering College in the UK. Look up one in your area and see what grades you need.
