Question: Need help with job ideas!?
I am about to be going into college and I am a but uncertain as to what i would like to go for. I have been weighing two options: nursing or TEFL in Germany. I really, really, would like to live and work in Germany, so are there any other options that I may pursue?
Also, are "transfer" programs available in hospitals? If I were to become a nurse, is there any way I could transfer to a hospital in Germany?
Is there anyone who does do TEFL in Germany?
Answer:
I can't speak about Nursing, but as far as TEFL in Germany goes you'll need two qualifications to begin, a degree (in almost any subject) and also a TEFL certificate. You will also need to have a passport from an EU member state (read Britain or Ireland) to get the work permit ok. You *can* do it if you don't have an EU state passport but it's a lot harder.
Germany likes their teachers professional and experienced. So the more experience you can get beforehand, the better. Even if it's volunteering work, this is fine but you need to show you know what you're doing and can do it well.
Good luck!
