Question: Is there really something wrong with me?

To explain what I mean. I have been back in Australia for 3 months now. Have been applying for full time work and even anything casual with very limited success... Then the lovely wife says that there are Chinese coming here and getting work in Sydney very quickly. Therefore there is something wrong in my brain to not have something simple. Even a cleaning job should be easy to pick up right?

Well let me tell you my work history. I graduated with a biotech degree when I was 24. I worked for 4 years as a nightfill for a supermarket. Two of those years as a duty manager. I worked in almost every department and learnt all the procedures and computer operations.

I left on good terms and travelled to China to work as an English teacher for 2 years. I am 29 this year and have returned with very little work history in my home country. I have little savings to my name. I didn't exactly set myself up so well. So how about my job prospects? Do you think my age and lack of experience will stop me from finding employment?

I'm targeting a wide array of jobs and sticking to computer applications. With somebody in my ear everyday saying there is something wrong with me, it is difficult.

Answer:

nobody can find a good job nowadayse without connections. and computer applications? bogus. nobody even reads those

If you have a degree in biotech, you shouldn't be applying for a cleaning job. Do whatever it takes to get to America, and I'm sure someone will hire you here.
