Question: I was offered a job in Hongkong, they pay $28,000USA a year. Bad idea?

I live in the US. A University offered me 28K a year with a 2 year contract. I do not wan't to do this if it is going to mean poverty. I get Medical and Dental but must pay for housing and all other costs. Is this a bad wage to make there?

Baaaaaaaad idea. The cost of living in Hong Kong is astronomical - Hong Kong is on the top 10 list for most expensive cities to live in (for comparison, NYC ranks down at 28).

$28,000 USD/year is not nearly enough. It would be like getting paid $20,000USD and trying to live in Manhattan.
