Question: I have been offered a job in both the states and in France, which one should i take?

People say the US offers more opportunity and i should therefore take the US offer, but i kinda like the french vibe and all but i can't speak french and that is another obstacle for me.Another thing is i don't wanna be around some weird **** which is common in the states, you get groups like NAMBLA,and other ***** organisations..plus America is downright imorall and dirty too, plus you get rednecks who are against people from other countries and i might have to face up to that..my only problem with france is the Langauge whereas the US stinks and comes with a whole lot of weird immoral ****,what's your take on this?

Answer:

Yes, you want to be in a place and surround yourself with people who think like you.
You can always learn French, but you can't change America's immorality.

Avoid the USA like the plague, go with France. In the US you will need at least $10,000 a year just for health care insurance and if you don't get it and need health care you are screwed. Also, USA has turned into a fascist police state so not a good place in general to live or work.

Dear Eric, I have been working for the Federal Gov as a GS and USCG AD (Ret) since 1986. Should you choose France, do not hesitate or regret. In France you have many groups (friends) who like to get together and chew over their lives...and speaking English also. While the US does not encourage a bi-lingual atmosphere, France does. Someone mentioned health care, yes, the French offer incredible care at little or no cost. Should you choose your homeland, you would be more comfortable with yourself and less nervous if you are quite young. You know the USA. Someone mentioned a police state, that is ridiculous. The USA Govt is safer now that is has been in a long time. Your problem here in the USA is going to be the crazy fundamentalist = people, not the Govt. If the Govt was in a police state, I guarantee you that there would be no fundamentalist at all. LOL. Anyway, Good Luck. BTW - Since we choose our "groups" I would not worry about such immoral things that are here and overseas. Remember you choose your "battles" so to speak.

Sounds to me you already have your mind made up. If you are certain you won't be happy here in the states then by all means don't give it a chance. Buy a Rosetta Stone and learn some French.

For me, it's no contest. Take the job in France, and learn French.

However, you might want to review your notion of '***** organisations' - generally homosexuals and lesbians are about sexual relationships between consenting adults. Organisations that would promote sexual relationships between adults and children would NOT be tolerated in Europe.

With your "I'm so above Americans" attitude I think that France would be perfect for you.

id take france, but what job is this?? how did you get it? and i can i do it :)
