Question: How do you turn down a job offer, if certain circumstances prevent you from doing that specific job?

I've been offered several jobs, but most of them are more than 50 miles away. There's no way I'd be able to make it there everyday. Do I reply telling them, no thanks or should I not reply at all? Advice please!

Answer:

Just be honest.

You never ever burn bridges just simply reply you are unfortunately unable to accept the job at this time due to i.e. school schedule, must care for ill family member etc. It is important you leave the door open by being a professional in the event you end up wanting to work for the company in the future i.e. they open a new location closer to you, you move closer to the location etc. Good Luck!

So why apply....?
