Question: How to stay sane while job searching?

Its really frustrating at this time. I am 29 and just came back to Sydney from teaching English in China. My experience is 2 years in that job. Plus 4 years supermarket (2 as a night manager) before i left. I completed my BSc in molecular bio at the age of 26.

Tomorrow I have a job interview tomorrow for a full time job in a supermarket. I just need tips to stay positive in the job hunt as I have never been without work for so long. And its frustrating to see all the young people out there enjoying themselves because they have work.

Answer:

Many job seekers find that the answer is volunteering. To help the elderly, work in a soup kitchen, deliver meals to shut-ins, etc. It's a powerful reminder that there are people out there who are in worse shape, it makes you feel better about yourself for helping someone, and it lets you focus on important, constructive activities.

Arguably, this is the most important aspect of job hunting, and probably the hardest -- staying positive in spite of the frustrations, delays and setbacks.

Another thing that some job seekers find really helpful is support groups. Google "[yourcityname] job seeker support group" to see if you can find some good local resources. Good luck!
