Answer:

If your goal is to work in the fashion industry, you can get to a job in the US faster by starting in South Africa. Check with the fashion institute there and they can give you the information that you will need. Coming straight to US and getting that kind of job with no qualifications or history in the industry would be very difficult.

If you are not already eligible to work in the US you have pretty much no chance. Sponsoring a foreign national for a work visa is extremely expensive and in most cases will require the company to certify that there is no American able to do the job. It is extremely unlikely this would be the case in the fashion industry.

You can send your resume to employers or use online applications, but once you note that you do not have permission to work in the US your application will be rejected.

There is no "employment seekers" visa in the US, though they do exist in a few other countries. You can visit the US on a tourist visa but you would not be eligible to work.

If you are serious about relocating to the US, your best option is to get a job in your home country with an organization that has US offices. Then after you've worked for a few years you can ask to be transferred to the US office. This kind of visa is much easier to obtain.
