Question: Can Someone Please tell me what happened here. . . {Job Hunting}?
Ok so today I was out filling out applications and I so happen to go into Ruby Tuesday. Well I asked to fill out an app and the lady pointed me to the manager. He was really busy (lunch time) so he gave me an application and kept on going about his business. Well to my surprise he came back and said he wanted to interview me on the spot. Any way we had a quick interview and I gave him my resume and cover letter. He told me he was gone call me in a few hours and unlike all the other job interviews Ive gone on he actually called me 6 hours later. He told me to come back on Wednesday to see another guy .. I didn't want to seem rude so I didn't ask "what for?" What do you think this is for. Im not sure because this is a totally different guy Im meeting with. I thought it might have been a second interview.. But u dont have 2nd interviews with a different person do it?
Do I take another copy of my resume and cover letter just in case it is a second interview? Im so exited I might have a second job. But I dont want to be to exited. Anybody else been through something similar?
Answer:
This is most likely a second interview with the assistant manager. It appears you, timing is everything, were at the right place and the right time. The manager was obviously impressed and now wants the assistant manager to interview you. I would take another copy of your resume and cover letter. 2.0 Easy Interview Overall Neutral Experience Received and Accepted Offer
Interviewed Oct 2010 (took 2 days)
Initially, I went to the Ruby Tuesday location I desired to work at. I requested and received an application. Filled out the application and returned it to the hiring manager in person. While turning in my application, I spoke with the hiring manager for a few minutes where I was told I would receive a phone call to set up an interview with the General Manager. I waited several days in anticipation of phone call. After not receiving the phone call, I made a call to the business and requested to speak with the hiring manager. The phone call led to an interview with the General Manager. I feel as though my taking the initiative to make the return phone call showed my desire and motivation to get the job. The interview with the GM led to a job and I was hired on the spot.
