Question: Can knowing Arabic and the Middle Eastern culture help me find a unique career?

I am currently a freshman at the Rutgers Business School, but I feel lost and confused as to what I want to do with my life. I am terrified about not finding the right career after I graduate, and I am starting to doubt if going to a Business school was the smartest decision because of the poor economy. Since I was born into an Egyptian-American family, I am fluent in Arabic and I am well aware of the Middle-Eastern culture, customs, and traditions. I have always wanted to do something in which I can work as a liaison, or something of that nature, between both the United States and the Middle East. Does anyone know of any good careers in Finance, or any business major for that matter, in which my knowledge of both regions could be of benefit for me? In today's day and age finding a job can be incredibly difficult and competitive, so I believe that my fluency in Arabic and multicultural awareness can make me stand out among other candidates. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this has been bothering me for a long time. Thank you.

Answer:

the only thing i can think of is a Translator

With all of the oil money in Arabic speaking nations, there are tons of finance jobs where Arabic is a benefit. You can also work in business for various companies doing business over there, especially oil companies.

I think business would be great for you, especially with proficiency in Arabic!!

Good luck at Rutgers!!

You have excellent career opportunities with the US govt, FBI, NSA, CIA, Military to assist the government in monitoring and controlling terrorist activity against our country.
